Parish RetreatsWeekend retreats are held several times a year to encourage parishioners to rest, relax and continue on their spiritual journeys. The styles range from peaceful stays at local monasteries with a lot of quiet and solitude to the much more socially-oriented Family Camp. A member of St. Tim's clergy leads each retreat and provides spiritual guidance and direction. Some of the retreats are for adults only while others are for the entire family and include activities specifically for children. St. Tim's Youth Group takes advantage of diocesan events, like New Beginnings and Happening, organized specifically for youth. Several EYC members, both youth and adult, have attended these weekends as candidates then worked as Staff Members at subsequent retreats. Women's Discipleship GroupThis is a small group ministry centerd on a Bible study and prayer for one another. Since the purpose is to provide a "safe environment" for women to come together and build community, the groups are kept small and are only open to new members at specific times. The "open periods" for new members occur frequently, though, and all women are welcome. Twice a month we meet in people's homes. We open with prayer after a short time of gathering informally. Then we go over the assigned study material -- which people have read at home prior to the meeting. Then we share prayer concerns and pray for each other. The format is informal and caring. Other Fellowship OpportunitiesFellowship also occurs whenever and whereever St. Timians are gathered -- especially before services, after services, during Sunday morning coffee hour, etc. In particular, many of the classes offered at St. Tim's deliberatedly include the opportunity for fellowship. See St. Tim's Education Webpage for more information.
