Adults -- Rector's Forum**

Sunday Forums are an interactive teaching and discussion session covering a wide range of topics. They normally start on Sunday morinings shortly after the end of the Coffee Hour following the 9 AM Eucharist service, except on the Sunday when the Vestry meets for it's Monthly meeting. Check the Calendar for details.

Once a month (usually the last Sunday) St Tim's now has a new program for kids, parents (and possibly grandparents). This is an intergenerational program meant to help us learn about each other and how we think about complicated questions about the world we live in. It is called Philosophy with Children, Parents and Grandparents. We meet after the morning service and coffee hour for about 45 minutes. All are welcome.
**Child Care is available at no charge. Call the church (858) 538-1267 or

The Gospel of Mark: Jesus-Powerful, Courageous, Trusting
Carol J. Miller

The portrait of Jesus we find in Mark is one of a powerful man, confident of his choices, but thoroughly trusting in God even as he faces persecution and ultimately death. Those who struggle in their discipleship are comforted to read in Mark's gospel how even Jesus' followers so often fail to understand the depth and breadth of Jesus' power and authority. Mark's words are an encouragement to uncertain disciples of all the ages to see clearly the path Jesus invites us to follow. 8 sessions.

•The Foundation of the Gospels
The Galilean Ministry Begins
•Teaching and Preaching
•A Man Who Does Everything Well
•Visions of the Kingdom
•What is Power?
•Signs of the End
•Death into Life

Study materials for the 8 lessons costs $20.00 and can be ordered by the church. A review of the materials by attendees is required before each class session.
Scholarships are available upon request. Call or e-mail the church office to register and secure class materials.

Institute for Dialogue
Meets Monthly on Friday Night
February Date is
7:00 PM Febuary 17, 2012
at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church

Learn About the Art of Dialogue - What is dialogue and how can we use dialogue to improve our everyday life and the lives of those around us?

This free, interactive event is open to the community. Anyone interested in learning about dialogue and how to practice effective dialogical skills is welcome to attend. One does not have to be a psychologist or other kind of professional to benefit from this event.

Did you know that dialogue is possible with nature, animals, and our environment - not to mention ourselves and others? These questions will be explored at St. Timothy's as part of the Institute for Dialogue.

Dialogue is a gift that can bring healing and meaning to every relationship.

This month’s session will be held Febuary 17th at St. Timothy’s Parish Hall. The presenter will be Dr. Maria Tillmanns who will be speaking on “Decision Making and Self-Deception”. This promises to generate another interesting conversation and genuine dialogue.
