CLERK OF THE VESTRY
God's Billboard
The Clerk of the Vestry is a Member of the Congregation appointed by the Rector with the
advice and consent of the Vestry
who takes minutes at the monthly Vestry meetings
(see the St. Timothy's Event Calendar)
at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. The responsibilities are described in Article VI,
Section 7 of the By-Laws.
The Clerk of thee Vestry takes the minutes of the Vestry meeting and
sends a draft by e-mail to the Vestry members normally within a week
or two after the meeting for comments or corrections. The corrected
minutes are e-mailed to the Vestry the week prior to the next meeting
for approval at that meeting. The approved minutes are distributed by
e-mail to the Vestry, additional selected members of the
congregation and to the Diocesan Bishop's office.
The Clerk of the Vestry also is responsible for taking and publishing the minutes of
the Annual Meeting of the Congregation, normally scheduled during the month of January.
Occasionally, the Clerk of the Vestry handles other Vestry related correspondence,
but that is usually handled by the Parish Administrator or individual Vestry members
as part of their responsibilities.
If you feel called to this ministry, or would like to find out more about
this opportunity to serve in this vital function to the Church, contact
St. Timothy's Parish Administrator, (858) 538-1267
or e-mail office@st-tims-church.org.
